Norwegian cinnamon rolls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 300 g butter
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 1,500 g wheat flour
  • 100 g yeast
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 80 g butter, melted
  • n. B. cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes

Skillingsboller

Bring the milk, butter, and powdered sugar to a boil, then cool in a water bath to 36°C. Boiling is important for the consistency of the rolls. Knead the cooled milk mixture with the flour, yeast, cinnamon, and cardamom into a smooth dough. Roll out the dough and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, then roll up the dough. Cut the roll into approximately 2 cm thick slices and place the cinnamon rolls on a baking sheet. Cover the cinnamon rolls with a cloth and let them rise for 40 minutes. Then bake in a hot oven at 250°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 7-10 minutes.
