Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 150 g butter
- 500 ml milk
- 50 g yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- 100 g sugar
- 875 g flour
- 100 g butter, melted
- 50 g sugar
- 25 g cinnamon
- 2 apples
- 100 g almonds, chopped
- 100 g raisins, possibly soaked in rum
- 1 egg(s)
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes
Warm the butter and milk (just lukewarm!). Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt, then add the warm butter and knead everything into a smooth dough. Place in a warm place and let it rise for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a square approximately 45 x 70 cm and brush with melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Peel and core the apples, cut them into small pieces, and arrange them on the dough. Sprinkle with the chopped almonds and pickled raisins (if desired) and roll them up into a log from the long side. Cut 1-2 cm thick pieces with a large knife and place them on a baking sheet. Let them rise for another 30 minutes (careful: they will roughly double in size!). Brush with the beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven at 200-225°C (fan oven) for 5-8 minutes.
