Bratwurst goulash with beer

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g pork sausage, coarse
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, cold squeezed
  • 200 ml beer, light
  • 1 tsp, heaped paprika powder, hot or sweet, as desired
  • 1 tsp, heaped tomato paste
  • 1 sprig(s) rosemary or about 10 dried rosemary needles
  • possibly water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Finely chop 1 onion and 1 garlic clove. Cut the sausages into bite-sized pieces. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and fry the onion, garlic, and sausage until lightly browned. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of paprika and fry briefly. Deglaze with 0.2 liters of beer, add 1 teaspoon of tomato paste, and a sprig of rosemary. Season with salt and pepper, and simmer, covered, over low heat for about 40 minutes. Add a little more water if needed. Serve with polenta, mashed potatoes, or white bread.
