Italian tuna sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 can/n tomatoes (Pizza tomatoes)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cans of tuna in its own juice
  • 3 cup(s) white wine
  • herbs, Italian
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar (or sweetener)
  • some tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Dice the onions and fry in a pan until translucent. Peel the garlic and give the clove a firm smash to break up the ethereal core (the garlic aroma will be released into the food, but you won’t smell of garlic after eating). Add the garlic cloves to the onions and fry. Immediately add the tuna to the pan and fry. Deglaze with the white wine and let it simmer for a while. Then fill the pan with the pizza tomatoes and season to taste with salt, pepper, Italian herbs, and sugar. Finally, thicken the sauce with the tomato paste, and it’s ready. If you use sweetener instead of sugar, the sauce is diet-friendly!
