Ham and ricotta rolls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 25 g yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 300 g ham, raw
  • 300 g ricotta
  • some olive oil for brushing
  • some pepper, from the mill
  • some sesame seeds, for sprinkling
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Add the oil, sugar, and salt to the well. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add it to the well. Knead everything well until you have a smooth dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Brush with a little olive oil. Spread the ricotta on the dough. Top with ham slices. Roll up from the long side, cut into 10 cm long rolls, and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the surface with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. The rolls are delicious hot or cold. You can also use cooked ham.
