Classic Tiramisu

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • some Amaretto
  • 500 g mascarpone
  • 250 ml coffee, boiled, strong, cold
  • 200 g ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Make the coffee using 4 tablespoons of coffee for 2 cups. Then chill. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Beat the powdered sugar, egg yolks, and a dash of Amaretto with a mixer on high until frothy. Add the mascarpone and beat again. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Place a layer of ladyfingers on the bottom of a bowl and briefly dip each one into the cold coffee. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the top. Place the second layer of ladyfingers on top and spread the rest of the mixture on top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle the cocoa powder over the dessert using a small sieve.
