Onion Bhajis – Indian onion patties

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g chickpea flour
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 spring onion(s)
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Indian evening

Makes about 20 bhajis. Mix all the spices with the chickpea flour. Finely slice the onions and leeks, fold in, and mix with about 100 ml of water. The batter should be nice and chewy. Then deep-fry at 180°C for about 5 minutes.
