Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced meat
- 1 onion(s)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 g ketchup
- 50 g sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
- 8 slices of toast
- 4 tbsp butter or margarine
- 200 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Heat oil in a pan. Add the onion and fry. Increase the heat to high. Stir the minced meat into the onion and fry. Drain the fat. Add the garlic, ketchup, tomato paste, mustard, chili powder, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Brush the slices of bread with butter. Fry the slices in a second pan. Spread the minced meat on half of the fried slices of bread and sprinkle with grated cheese. Cover the cheese with the remaining slices of bread. Fry the bread on both sides for about 2 minutes until crispy.
