Fillet steak with goat cheese

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 beef fillets (150 – 200 grams each)
  • 100 g goat’s cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 1 pinch(s) red pepper (ground)
  • 1 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Peel the garlic and chop into small pieces. Wash and finely chop the basil. Add the garlic, basil, a pinch of salt, ground red pepper, the juice of half a lemon, and 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil to the goat’s cheese and mix well. Let it sit in the refrigerator for three hours. Preheat the oven to 80°C (no fan!). Brown the steaks in hot olive oil (about 2-5 minutes, depending on taste). Place them on a heatproof plate. Spread with the goat’s cheese mixture and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, garnish with whole red pepper, and serve. Side dishes: croquettes, vegetables, and/or salad.
