Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 300 g semolina
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Water
  • 200 g white bread, diced
  • 1 tbsp margarine, for toasting

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Make a medium-firm dough from flour, semolina, eggs, salt, baking powder, and a little water. Toast the white bread in the margarine and stir it into the dough. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Form the dough into a roughly 10 cm thick roll and let it simmer gently in salted water for about 45 minutes. The bread dumpling is also great for freezing and later reheating in slices in steam. We usually serve this bread dumpling with goulash and sauerkraut.
