Original Murzynek – cake with cocoa and coconut

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 2 glasses of sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ jar water
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 jars of flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • some desiccated coconut for sprinkling
  • Grease for the tray

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Original Silesian recipe from grandma

Bring the butter, sugar, water, and cocoa powder to a boil, stirring constantly. Set aside half a jar of the thickened mixture. Let the rest cool in the pan. Add the desiccated coconut, then gradually add the eggs, flour, and baking powder while stirring. Spread the batter on a greased baking sheet and bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20-25 minutes. After baking, spread the reserved mixture evenly over the still-hot cake and sprinkle with some desiccated coconut.
