Chinese sweet and sour sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup white vinegar, of your choice
  • ½ cup sugar (fine grain)
  • 3 tsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp instant chicken broth
  • 1 tsp corn flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine everything in a small saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil. Then simmer until thickened. Voila! You have a delicious, simple sweet and sour sauce. This sauce goes perfectly with all Asian dishes. It also tastes delicious on its own with rice or even noodles. Tip: For something a little more exotic, you can add 2 teaspoons of finely chopped pineapple and/or 2 teaspoons of finely chopped fresh ginger.
