Braised sugarloaf salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 lettuce (sugarloaf lettuce), cut into strips
  • 100 g bacon, streaky, smoked, cut into strips
  • 1 shallot(s), finely chopped
  • 100 g crème fraîche, or more if desired
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Recipe from a vegetable farmer from Brittany

Fry the bacon strips, briefly sauté the chopped shallot, then add the sugarloaf cut into strips, sauté until as firm as you like, stir in the crème fraîche and season with salt and pepper, and if you like, a little nutmeg.
