Baked Yams – Sweet potato casserole with orange juice

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 200 ml orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

ideal side dish for Thanksgiving turkey

Bake the sweet potatoes with their skins on in a 200°C oven for about an hour. Peel off the skin and slice them into medium-thick slices. Boil the sugar and juice until reduced to a syrup. Place the slices in a buttered baking dish and drizzle with the syrup. Lightly salt. Add a few knobs of butter to the top. Then return to the 200°C oven for about 10 minutes.
