Swabian lasagna with Maultaschen

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 2 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 4 Maultaschen
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • 50 g Parmesan, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs, Italian
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic for about 5 minutes until translucent. Meanwhile, quarter the tomatoes and remove the green parts. Then add the tomatoes to the onions and sauté for 1 minute. Add the canned tomatoes and season the sauce with salt. Simmer for 10 minutes. You can now peel the skins off the tomatoes with a fork. Alternatively, you can also puree the sauce. Then season the sauce with pepper and herbs. Arrange the Maultaschen in a baking dish and add the sauce. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) until the cheese is golden brown, this takes about 20 minutes.
