Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g French fries, thick or ridged
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 80 g butter
  • 40 g flour
  • 75 ml milk
  • 75 ml cream
  • 200 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

according to an American recipe

Prepare the fries according to the package instructions. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form four patties. Brown them on both sides in a little oil. Meanwhile, melt the butter and stir in the flour. Bring the mixture to a boil briefly, then carefully deglaze with milk and cream. Bring back to a boil, then stir in the cheese over low heat. Season with salt and pepper. Toast the bread and divide it between two plates. Place a patty on each slice and arrange the fries on top. Finally, drizzle with the cheese sauce and serve hot.
