Meatballs with cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 300 ml cream
  • 450 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp chives, in rolls
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 250 ml broth, instant
  • Allspice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Known in the USA as Swedish Meatballs

Sauté chopped onion in butter. Mix breadcrumbs with 5 tablespoons of cream and 3 tablespoons of water, knead with onion, minced meat, egg, and chives, and season with salt and pepper. Form into small balls and fry in clarified butter. Remove from heat and keep warm. Sprinkle the flour into the frying fat and make a roux. Deglaze with meat broth, add the remaining cream, and simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and allspice. Add the meatballs to the sauce and serve. We serve with cranberries and potatoes or fries.
