Creamy pretzel salad

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 150 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 100 g pretzel(s), (salted pretzel) broken into large pieces, alternatively halved party pretzel sticks
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 250 g whipped cream (e.g. crèmefine)
  • 400 g pineapple, in pieces

Melt the butter over medium heat, add half of the sugar, and stir well until the sugar dissolves. Arrange the pretzel/pretzel stick pieces in a baking dish and pour the butter/sugar mixture over them. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10 minutes, then let cool. Mix the remaining half of the sugar with the cream cheese and whipped cream. Add the pineapple pieces and the caramelized pretzels. Mix everything well, transfer to a baking dish or bowl, and refrigerate for about 4 hours.
