Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 ½ kg potatoes
- 200 g bacon, diced
- 5 m.-large gherkins
- 2 large onions
- 1 cube of stock, small
- Salt
- pepper
- 3 tbsp margarine
- 3 tbsp flour
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Boil the potatoes with their skins on in salted water until tender. Allow to cool, peel, and cut into not too thick cubes. Fry the ham cubes, add the diced onions and fry until golden brown. Stir in about 3 tablespoons of flour and bring to a boil with about ½ liter of water. Dice the gherkins and add to the sauce, bring to a boil while gently simmering. Season to taste with the stock cube, salt, pepper, and a little of the gherkin liquid, and finally fold in the potatoes. It’s a really delicious and hearty meal; we eat it with bratwurst, scalded sausage, fish fingers, or meatballs.
