Spicy bacon and onion pie

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g bread mix (crust bread)
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 350 ml water, lukewarm
  • 4 onions
  • 300 g onion(s), red
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Caraway powder
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 5 eggs
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Combine the baking mix and yeast. Add 350 ml of lukewarm water and knead with a dough hook until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Slice the onions and dice the bacon. Heat the oil, fry the bacon, add the onions, and sauté for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the caraway seeds. Mix the sour cream and eggs. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Roll out the bread dough. Spread the bacon and onions on top. Pour the cream topping over the dough. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 45-50 minutes.
