Honey-Salt Nuts

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g nuts, shelled (cashews, almonds, peanuts)
  • 20 g butter
  • 2 pinches of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp honey, liquid acacia honey
  • 1 tsp, str. Garam Masala or Raz el Hanout

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 27 minutes

Melt the butter and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the cayenne pepper and half a tablespoon of sea salt, then add the nuts. Mix everything thoroughly. Transfer the nut mixture to a non-stick dish (or onto baking paper) and roast in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. Turn over halfway through baking. Remove the nuts from the oven and let them cool slightly. Combine 1/2 tablespoon of sea salt with the spices in a bowl and mix well with the still-warm nuts. Let cool and store in an airtight container. Tip: The nuts will keep for about 4 weeks. Don’t use regular table salt, or they’ll be too salty!
