Thick rib from the slow cooker

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 kg rib(s), (thick rib), cut apart
  • 250 g tomato ketchup
  • 100 g chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp oregano, dried
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 6 hours 35 minutes

Season the ribs with salt and pepper and bake in the oven at approximately 200°C for 15 minutes. Flip halfway through to brown both sides. After 15 minutes, remove the ribs from the oven, drain off the fat, and place them in the slow cooker. Mix all the remaining ingredients well in a bowl and pour over the ribs, making sure everything is well coated. Cover and simmer on low for 6-8 hours. They’re done when the meat is so tender it falls off the bone.
