for children from 1 year
Heat the apple juice and melt the fat and honey in it. Peel and grate the apple. Mix the flour, oats, and yeast. Knead with the apple juice, grated apple, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until the dough is nice and elastic. Add another 2-3 tablespoons of liquid if necessary; the dough will continue to expand. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, until it has doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat, fan: 180°C). Line two baking sheets with baking paper. Knead the dough again. With floured hands, cut out plum-sized pieces, shape them, and place them on the baking sheets with some space between them. Let rest for 10-15 minutes. Brush the rolls with a little water and bake for about 12 minutes. Bake the second baking sheet afterward. For a savory version, replace the apple juice with carrot juice and the apple with fresh grated carrots.
