Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 6 m.-sized eggs
- 1 pack of lemon peel
- 120 g sugar
- 180 g flour
- ½ pack of baking powder
- 1 bottle of bitter almond flavor
- 6 tbsp water, hot
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Crack the eggs and separate the egg yolks and egg whites. Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside. Heat the water and whisk together with the egg yolks, lemon zest, and sugar until frothy. Add the baking powder, sifted flour, and bitter almond extract and continue beating with a hand mixer. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour some batter onto the hot waffle iron. If it’s too thick, add a little water to make it thinner. After baking, arrange the waffles with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and hot cherries and serve.
