Slimming World recipe

Peel the potatoes and bring to a boil in a pot of cold, salted water over high heat. Then reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes. Drain, let cool, and cut into 5 mm thick slices. Preheat oven to 200ºC (top/bottom heat). Mix the cornstarch and water in a cold pot. Add the quark and a little more water, if necessary, to make a creamy sauce (but not runny). Stir in the crushed garlic and nutmeg. Add the potatoes and mix well. Transfer the potato mixture to a shallow ovenproof dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the gratin is golden brown. This dish is a low-calorie accompaniment to meat and fish dishes.
