an aromatic salt for beef steaks or pan-fried vegetables

Place the salt in a bowl and slowly pour the red wine over it. Only add as much wine as the salt can absorb. Place the bowl in the oven at 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit) and let the salt dry for about two hours, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Place a wooden spoon in the oven door to allow the moisture to escape. The red wine salt pairs very well with beef steaks. It also makes a very nice and inexpensive gift.
