Grandma's sweet cherry compote

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g sweet cherries
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash and pit the cherries, and sprinkle with sugar. Once they’ve released their juice, bring them to a boil and simmer over low heat until soft, then add the vanilla sugar. Season to taste with more sugar, if desired.
