Strawberry chocolate jam

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1.1 kg strawberries
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 5 g citric acid
  • 100 g chocolate, white

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 30 minutes

Wash the strawberries and drain well. Trim the berries and cut into small pieces. Weigh 1 kg of strawberries. Mix them with the gelling sugar and citric acid in a large saucepan. Cut the chocolate into small pieces. Bring the strawberries to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly, and simmer for about 4 minutes. If desired, puree the strawberry and fruit mixture. Fold in the chocolate pieces. Pour the hot jam into the prepared jars and seal immediately. Place the jars on the lids for about 5 minutes. Turn the jam upside down and let the jam cool. The jam will keep for about 4 months.
