Mexican salsa with physalis

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 chili pepper(s), pitted, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 300 g physalis
  • ½ bunch coriander leaves
  • n. B. Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Side dish for grilled food

Heat the oil in a small saucepan. Sauté the onion, garlic, and chili for 4 minutes. Add the physalis, season with salt, and simmer for 10 minutes. Blend with the coriander leaves. Season to taste. The coriander leaves can also be added after blending. Serve the salsa with grilled meat or fish.
