Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 pear(s), solid
- 4 sheets of frozen puff pastry squares
- 50 g butter
- 80 g sugar, fine, brown
- e.g. ice cream (vanilla ice cream)
- Basil leaves for decoration
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
With vanilla ice cream and fresh basil
Preheat oven to 200°C. Quarter the pear, remove the core, and cut into thin wedges. Arrange the frozen puff pastry squares on a plate. Using a sharp knife, cut a 1 cm wide edge all around each side, leaving the corners on two diagonally opposite sides intact. Now lift one of the corners that is cut through the inside and place it diagonally on the opposite side. Repeat with the second cut corner. This creates a border. On a baking sheet lined with baking paper, place small mounds of 1 tablespoon of sugar each and smooth them down lightly. Place the frozen puff pastry squares on top and pierce the inside of the squares with a fork. Arrange the pear slices on top in a fan shape and scatter the butter pieces and the remaining sugar over them. Bake the tarts for about 30 minutes until golden brown, transfer to plates, and serve with ice cream and basil leaves.
