Berry mix jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 7 servings:

  • 700 g mixed berries (frozen)
  • 300 g strawberries (frozen)
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes

Very simple jam, quick and easy to make. Makes 7 jars of 200 ml each.

Thaw the berries and then puree them with the sugar in a bowl (you can also add only half the sugar to the berries first and the rest once the fruit is completely pureed). Add the juice of one lemon. Mix everything together well and puree further if necessary. Now pour everything into a saucepan and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. To check if the jam is ready, do the setting test. Place about 1 teaspoon of the jam on a chilled plate. When the jam is ready, the test piece on the plate will be solid after about 1 minute. If this is not the case, let the mixture simmer for a while and do the setting test again if necessary. You can then fill the jam into preserving jars using a funnel. Please make sure to close the jars quickly and turn them upside down for 10 minutes. The jam will keep for about 1-2 months.
