Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g shallot(s), very small
  • 5 tsp brown sugar
  • 200 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 100 ml vegetable stock
  • salt and pepper
  • some thyme for sprinkling

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the shallots. Combine the shallots, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and vegetable stock in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, and simmer over high heat for 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat. Season the shallots with salt and pepper and sprinkle with thyme, if desired. Based on 2 servings, 1 serving has 232 kcal.
