Crispy Chicken Burger

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • n. B. Flour
  • 350 g cornflakes, unsweetened
  • 1 tsp garlic granules or 1 clove garlic, squeezed
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • Oil, clarified butter or margarine
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 chicken schnitzels
  • 2 tomatoes, as desired
  • e.g. salad
  • e.g. mayonnaise

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

For the crispy coating, we need unsweetened cornflakes, which first need to be roughly crushed. You can either crush them in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or use a blender. Next, whisk the eggs with dried garlic, salt, and pepper. The eggs help the coating stick to the meat. Next, bread the meat by first coating it in flour, then dipping it in the beaten egg, and finally coating it in the cornflakes. Fry the schnitzels over low to medium heat until crispy. You can use oil, clarified butter, or margarine for frying. Cut open the buns and spread mayonnaise or remoulade on both halves. Then add the schnitzel, tomato slices, and lettuce, and the crispy chicken burger is ready.
