Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 shallots
  • 500 g fresh leaf spinach
  • 40 g butter
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 garlic clove(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the shallots and dice them into small cubes. Trim the spinach leaves and remove the stalks. Melt the butter in a saucepan and briefly sauté the shallots. Add the spinach leaves, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Sauté for about 3 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated. Peel the garlic and skewer it on a fork. Stir it into the spinach to give it a light, yet not overly strong, garlicky flavor. Serve with baked potatoes.
