Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef (shoulder)
- 3 onions
- 70 g lard
- salt and pepper
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
- ½ liter of water, hot
- 4 tbsp flour
- ⅛ liter cream
- Paprika powder
- some garlic salt
- some water
Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Wash the meat and roughly dice. Peel and finely dice the onions. Heat the lard in a saucepan, add the meat, and sear well on all sides for about 10 minutes. Add the onions. Add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic salt, and sugar, and stir well. Gradually add the hot water. Cover and simmer the goulash over low heat for about 1 1/2 hours. 10 minutes before the end of cooking, mix the flour with a little water and add to the goulash. Garnish with cream. I recommend serving it with pasta, boiled potatoes, or salad.
