Chicken breast with feta and crème fraîche

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 large chicken breast
  • 1 handful of feta cheese (cubes or blocks)
  • 1 cup of crème fraîche or crème légère
  • 1 small can of tomato sauce
  • 1 bag of cheese (e.g. Emmental), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

First, slice the chicken breast into thick or thin slices, depending on your preference, season, and sear briefly. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Half-fill a small casserole dish or aluminum tray with the tomato sauce and place the meat in it. Spread 1-3 tablespoons of crème fraîche or crème légère over the meat, as desired. Crumble the feta cheese (either cubes or blocks) and sprinkle it on top. Finally, sprinkle as much grated cheese as you like for the topping—I always use a handful. Place the dish on a rack on the middle shelf of the oven and leave it there until the top layer of cheese has melted and is golden brown.
