Honey BBQ chicken wings

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 160 g BBQ sauce
  • 80 g honey
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 60 g butter
  • 2 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 ½ tsp chili powder
  • 2 ½ tsp paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Wash and dry the chicken wings, cutting them into pieces if necessary. Mix the spices. Thoroughly season the wings with the spice mixture in a bowl and let them marinate for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Bake the wings in the oven for 20 minutes. Turn them over after 20 minutes and bake for another 20 minutes. For the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the honey, BBQ sauce, and ketchup and mix well. Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer gently for about 10 minutes over low heat. Then remove the chicken wings from the oven, marinate them in a clean bowl with the sauce, and return them to the baking rack. Spread the remaining sauce over the wings, according to taste. Bake for another 7-8 minutes, until the sauce on the wings is lightly caramelized.
