Stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 20 chili peppers (jalapenos), fresh, green or red
  • 250 g cream cheese or Emmental, grated
  • 20 slice(s) bacon, thinly sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

A delicious snack at any party

Wash the jalapenos, halve them lengthwise, and remove any seeds and ribs. Spread cream cheese into the chili halves or fill them with grated cheese. Put the halves back together, tightly wrap a 10 cm strip of bacon around them, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at medium heat until the bacon is cooked through and crispy. If the cheese bubbles out of the peppers during baking, reduce the heat. Then let it cool slightly and serve. Serve with a cold beer. Tip: For the die-hard fans, stuff a few habanero peppers too. Great flavor, and the cheese reduces the heat (almost) to a tolerable level.
