Chicken Skewers with Warm Lentil Salad

The perfect chicken skewers with warm lentil salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Chicken skewers:

  • 300 g Chicken breast fillet
  • 100 g Onion wedges
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup Manis
  • 1 tsp Mild curry powder
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 4 piece Shish kebab skewers
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 4 big pinches Coarse sea salt from the mill
  • 4 big pinches Colorful pepper from the mill

Lentil Salad:

  • 100 g Red lenses
  • 100 g Carrots
  • 75 g 1 Zwiebel
  • 1 Frühlingszwiebel
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp Orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup Manis
  • 1 tsp Liquid honey
  • 2 big pinches Coarse sea salt from the mill
  • 2 big pinches Colorful pepper from the mill
  • 2 tbsp Cream

Serve:

  • 2 Discs Orange
  • 2 * ½ Cherry Tomate

Chicken skewers:

  1. Clean and wash the chicken breast fillet, pat dry with kitchen paper and cut into cubes. Marinate the chicken breast fillet cubes in a mixture of lemon juice (juice ½ lemon), sunflower oil (2 tablespoons) and mild curry powder (1 teaspoon) for about 30 minutes. Thread / stick the meat cubes on 4 shashlik skewers and fry them all around in a hot pan for about 7 – 8 minutes until they are golden-brown. While frying, brush the marinade every now and then and season with coarse sea salt from the mill (4 big pinches) and colored pepper from the mill (4 big pinches).

Lentil Salad:

  1. Boil the red lentils (100 g) in water for about 8 – 120 minutes, drain through a kitchen sieve, rinse and drain well. Peel the carrots with the peeler, halve lengthways and cut into thin slices. Peel and dice the onion. Heat sunflower oil (2 tbsp) in a pan, fry carrot slices and onion cubes in it. Add the pre-cooked lentils and season with orange juice (2 tablespoons 9, liquid honey (1 teaspoon), coarse sea salt from the mill (2 big pinches) and colored pepper from the mill (2 big pinches). Let everything simmer for a few minutes and then Clean and wash the spring onions, cut into fine rings and mix / fold into the lentil salad.

Serve:

  1. Serve the chicken skewers with the lentil salad, each garnished with a slice of orange and half a cherry tomato.
