New York Pizza
The perfect new york pizza recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Flour type 550
- Half a pack of dry yeast
- 6 g Salt
- 65 ml Olive oil
- 0,5 tbsp Sugar
- 325 ml Water
- Passata
- Parmesan
- Dry mozzarella
- Oregano and basil
- Salt and pepper
- Add the flour, oil, salt, sugar, lukewarm water and half a pack of dry yeast to a container and knead well. Then let it rest for an hour.
- After an hour, knead the dough again well and then cut it into three parts. These are then individually rolled into small balls (should fill like baby bottoms ^^) and put in individual containers. Then let rise for another hour (from this step on, the dough pieces can also be put in the refrigerator and consumed within a week)
- As soon as the time has passed, flour your hands (wash thoroughly beforehand, of course ^^) and the work area well. Then squeeze out a piece of dough into a slice with your hands and stretch it out as you wish (there are some videos on Youtube that explain how to properly stretch a pizza dough).
- Then add a dash of olive oil and the passata mixed with pepper and oregano. The pizza shouldn’t have too much passata, otherwise the tomato flavor will dominate too much. Then add a little salt and rub the Parmesan on top, depending on your preference. Finally add the dried mozzarella (fresh mozzarella is too runny). A few leaves of basil do not hurt either and then add to the bottom rail in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius (a pizza stone is really worth it!).
- Leave in the oven for 5-10 minutes and bake until browned.
