Cut a slice of bread about 1-1.5 cm thick, light or dark, depending on your taste. Peel an onion and slice it into rings about 2-3 mm thick. Heat butter and olive oil together in a pan and toast the slice of bread. When the bread is the desired degree of browning, remove it from the pan and place it on a plate. Distribute the onion rings in the pan and cook until lightly translucent. Crack the two eggs over the onion rings and fry until fried. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve on the slice of bread.
