Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 can condensed milk, sweetened (e.g. Milchmädchen)

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

super easy – you only need one can

Put a sufficiently large pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Place the unopened can of condensed milk into the hot water. The water should cover the can. Then let the can boil for one hour. Make sure the water always covers the can – add more water if necessary. After boiling for one hour, let the can cool in the water. Do not open the can until it has cooled down. Tip: You can eat the caramel cold or warm. You can also mix desiccated coconut or hazelnuts with the cream and use it as a filling for cakes, cookies, etc. And be careful: I once forgot to add more water (after 40 minutes or so), and the can exploded!
