Pasta bake à la grandma and mom

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g penne
  • 1 package of ham, cooked
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • some nutmeg, freshly grated
  • some salt
  • some pepper
  • 1 bag of cheese of your choice, grated
  • some margarine

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the penne as usual according to the package instructions. In the meantime, remove the ham from the packaging and cut it into small squares. Grease the baking dish with a little margarine so that the casserole can be easily removed later. When the pasta is ready, drain it and rinse it with cold water. Add the pasta to the baking dish (not all of it – just a little, enough to cover the bottom). Then add some ham. If you like, you can add cheese between the layers (but this is not necessary). Then add the remaining pasta to the baking dish, spread the remaining ham on top, and sprinkle with cheese. Combine the milk and eggs in a measuring jug and season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Then whisk together and pour this mixture evenly over the casserole. Bake in a hot oven at 180°C for about 30-35 minutes. Serve with a cucumber salad with dill and cream dressing.
