Almond pears with spirit

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 small pears, sweet
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 dash of lemon juice
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp almonds, chopped or grated
  • 1 tbsp almond flakes
  • 8 cl eggnog

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and halve the pears, scoop out the cores, and sauté them with half the sugar in a little lemon juice for about 5 minutes. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, gradually adding the remaining sugar and almonds. Preheat oven to 225°C (425°F). Drain the pears, fill them with beaten egg whites, and bake in the oven for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, toast the flaked almonds until golden. Divide the pear halves among 4 dessert plates. Garnish with advocaat and flaked almonds.
