Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 cube of yeast, fresh
  • 200 ml milk
  • 125 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g bacon
  • 1,000 g pear(s), (stewed)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with yeast dough

First, make a yeast dough from ingredients 1 – 4 and let it prove for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, sauté the fresh pears. If using canned/jarred pears, drain them well. Line a greased baking dish with 1/2 of the bacon strips. Arrange the drained pears on top. Now preheat the oven to 175 degrees and work the yeast dough again. Pour this dough over the pears and let it prove for another 10 minutes. Then add the remaining bacon strips on top and place in the oven for about 60 minutes. Serve the finished Ofenkater with a juice sauce (e.g. canned pear juice, or slightly thicken the juice from the sautéing).
