Gratinated cheese and potato puree

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 900 g potatoes, floury, diced
  • 25 g butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 onion(s), finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • 175 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cook the potatoes for about 10-15 minutes until soft. Melt the butter in the pan, add the onions, garlic, and mustard, and sauté while stirring. Place the breadcrumbs in a bowl and add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture. Season with salt and pepper, and stir in the parsley. Drain the potatoes. Place them in a bowl, add the butter and milk, and mash everything until smooth. Then stir in the cheese while the mixture is still hot. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish and spread the crumble topping on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately.
