Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg Pepino(s) (melon pears)
  • 1 kg peach(s)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar 2:1
  • some citric acid
  • some ginger, ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

for approx. 6 glasses

Blanch the peaches and remove the outer skin. Peel the pepino and cut it in half to remove the pits. Chop the peaches and pepino into small pieces. Add the gelling sugar, citric acid, and ginger to taste, and let stand for about 1-2 hours. Then bring to a boil and pour into jars. Screw on the lids and let cool upside down. It tastes wonderfully light and fruity, refreshing.
