Apple compote grandma's style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g apples, peeled, quartered or quartered, pitted
  • 250 ml water
  • 50 g sugar or more
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Bring the water and sugar to a boil, add the apples, and cook over low heat (shaking the pot frequently) for 10-20 minutes, depending on the apple’s hardness, until soft and translucent. Then add the lemon juice and add more sugar if needed.
