Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 12 herring fillets
  • n. B. water
  • 200 g onion(s)
  • 2 m.-sized apples
  • 2 gherkins
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 8 peppercorns

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 15 minutes

delicious and easy

Soak the fish in water for 1-2 hours and drain well. Cut into approximately 2 cm pieces. Mix the cream with the vinegar, mustard seeds, and peppercorns. Slice the onions, apples, and cucumbers, add them to the sauce with the herring fillets, and stir well. Then refrigerate and let stand for 24 hours. Serve with boiled potatoes and a fresh green salad.
