Herring tip

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of fish (herring in oil)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • some cream or milk, if necessary

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Total time approx. 2 days 15 minutes

Prepare 2 days before consumption, must be well marinated

Drain the oil and soak the herring in water for 2 hours each. Drain and cut into bite-sized pieces. Finely dice the onion and apple. Mix all the other ingredients together, add the herring, onion, and apple, and mix gently. Close the bowl tightly and let it sit in the refrigerator for 1.5 to 2 days. Halfway through cooking, turn the bowl upside down. Stir gently again just before serving. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more cream or milk. This goes best with boiled potatoes. This amount is plenty for 2 people, but a bit small for 3 people. Leftovers can be easily stored in the refrigerator for another day.
